The Eisenhower, or Ike, dollars (1971 - 1978) are the last US dollar coins struck in the same size as the old silver dollars. The series includes both copper-nickel clad issues struck for circulation, and 40% silver clad versions sold to collectors. Sometimes overlooked by collectors, the Ikes can be an attractive collection of large US coins that won't break the budget.
